You’ve joined some crafting workshops, but have you ever heard about craft camps?

Already on its third year, a bunch of lifetime crafters namely Mansy Abesamis, Alessandra Lanot, Mikko Sumulong, Macy Alcaraz, and Veronica Cosio came up Craft Camp PH—a quick weekend getaway that aims to nurture the creative spirit through capsule craft sessions! The first Craft Camp took place at Crystal Beach, Zambales in 2013, while the second was held at La Union in 2015.

Held last November 12 and 13, this year’s Craft Camp PH was a whole-day crafting adventure in the beautiful Antipolo, Rizal. It offered creative retreats for two batches of adults who were looking to recharge, find inspiration, and nurture their creative spirit by making things with their hands and meeting kindred souls. Some highlights included:

A hearty breakfast in a Swiss chalet, paired with the first art workshop of the day: a sketching workshop!

Hey Kessy sponsored carving blocks for the Rubber Stamp Making Workshop and button pins for the crafters.

The attendees learned how to make new crafts like making rubber stamps and sewing embroidery patches within a very relaxed venue.

Mansy, who also designed the Craft Camp PH poster with a papercut prototype, taught papercutting and even gave away some goodies courtesy of X-ACTO and Elmer’s Glue!

After a day of crafting and bonding, it’s no surprise that the attendees and craft teachers were all smiles for the camera!

Interested in collaborating with Mansy or the Hey Kessy shop for a fun crafting workshop or installation? Shoot us an email at and we can come up with something unique!

Stay crafty!
