#HeyKessyDIYin5: Cake in a Jar

It’s not too early to research for affordable, do-it-yourself Christmas gifts you can give away. This one is a tasty option that you can also bake for yourself!

What You Need:
For the cake mix:
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsbp cocoa or chocolate powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt

For the container:
Microwavable jar or mug
Washi tape*
Scissors
Ribbon or baker’s twine* for décor

What to Do:
1 Decorate your microwavable jar with washi tape.

2 Layer the cake ingredients.

3 Cover the jar with the lid and decorate some more.

Give this away as a Christmas gift, but be sure to include a note on how to use to cake mix. Easy-peasy instructions below!

How to bake the cake:
1] Add one egg to the mixture, mix, and pop in the microwave on high heat for 1.5 to 2 minutes!
2] Make sure your mixture is just about halfway your container because the cake will rise up while baking.
3] You can also add about 3 tablespoons of milk if you want your cake to be super moist.
4] Enjoy eating it while it’s hot!
