Weekends equal relaxation.

At Hey Kessy, it means holding workshops that teach people new things, spark creativity, and build connections (whether among family members or strangers turned friends!). Last month, we hosted two workshops given by Amber Folkman and Mansy Abesamis!

The brains behind A Momma Abroad, Amber shared her amazing sewing skills and taught students how to use a sewing machine, make basic stitches, and create felt appliqué.

Meanwhile, Mansy taught students how to make intricate papercuts and stencils using different paper types from the Hey Kessy Papercut Diary (you can order it online!). Each student got a beach blanket which they personalized using their customized stencils and textile paint. At the end of the workshop, a lucky workshop attendee even won a papercut-inspired washi tape designed by Mansy herself!

On days when workshops aren’t scheduled, you can still drop by the Hey Kessy shop and make stuff on the Let’s Be Makers table. Did you know that you can make your own button pins there? Here are some cool creations we’ve witnessed being made!

What other crafting tools do you want to find on the table? More importantly, what other workshops do you want us to hold at the Let’s Be Makers area next? (Email us at for a private workshop!)

By the way, our craft tools and materials are also available at the Felice Shop in General Luna, Siargao!

Stay crafty!
